Is Lauds available?
Yes. It is on the App Store for iPhone as “Lauds: Daily Prayer”, free to download. There is no account and nothing to sign up for.
The readings are free on the USCCB website. Why an app?
They are, and that page will always be there — Lauds opens that very page for you. What people told us is that a website doesn't make a habit: it isn't waiting for you at 6:30 and it isn't on your Lock Screen. Lauds is the reminder, the calendar and the one tap.
Which translation does it use?
Lauds follows the United States Catholic calendar. For the words themselves it opens the official USCCB page for the day inside the app — what you read is what is read at Mass. For offline reading there is also a public-domain Catholic translation, clearly labelled as not the Mass text.
How is this different from Hallow, Ascension or Laudate?
Those are good apps, and mostly about something else — guided meditation, Bible in a Year, a broad library. Lauds does one thing: the Catholic day arrives every morning, and the readings are a tap away.
What does it cost?
Today, the readings, the saint of the day and the widgets are free. Lauds Pro adds the guided Rosary, the Litany and a novena read aloud (by a synthetic voice, and we say so), Evening — an examen and night prayer — and a candle for an intention on your widget: $2.99 a month, $19.99 a year, or $39.99 once. No trial tricks; prices are shown in your currency before you buy.
What about my data?
No account, no email, no ads in the app. Your settings and prayer history stay on your phone. The privacy policy says the rest in plain words.
I joined the waitlist earlier. What happens to my email?
You get one launch notice, and the list is deleted 30 days after it, as promised. This site no longer collects email addresses.
